How we describe curiosities
Coins list their year, denomination, silver content and grade. Stamps list their issue, condition and whether they’re used or mint. We photograph both sides of every coin.
About our odd finds
Some things turn up that aren't jewellery, coins or stamps but are too good to leave behind: a compass, a token, a small silver box. Odd finds is where they live. Each one is described as plainly as we can, with what it's made of, what it was for and its condition, and we say so when we're not sure. Silver items are tested like everything else in the shop. It's an ever-changing drawer, so if something here catches your eye, it may not be here for long.
