Siam silver
Sterling silver engraved with figures from Thai legend, the background filled with black niello so the silver seems to glow. Most pieces were made between the 1930s and the 1970s.
They’re often marked “Siam Sterling”, a name that stayed in use long after the country became Thailand in 1939.

Collecting designer and rare silver
Designer and rare vintage silver jewellery rewards a closer look. A maker’s mark, a workshop stamp or a hand-engraved niello panel can tell you who made a piece and roughly when. Here you’ll find signed pieces from makers such as Tiffany & Co., Von Treskow and Lucy Folk alongside Siam silver and mid-century modernist work, each with its marks photographed and its condition described honestly, including wear and repairs. Signed pieces are often copied, so we only name a maker when we can stand behind it. Hunting for someone in particular? Tell us, and we’ll look out for them.
