About vintage Siam silver
Siam silver is sterling silver decorated with niello, a black metallic inlay, and hand-engraved figures from Thai legend such as Mekkala, the goddess of lightning. Most pieces were made between the 1930s and the 1970s and are marked "Siam" or "Siam Sterling", a name that stayed in use long after the country became Thailand in 1939. We photograph every mark and describe the condition of the niello honestly, including any loss or wear.
